Display status of a file in the document tab [updated]

I have no idea if this is even possible, but it would be very cool if the icon displaying the status of a file (new, added, modified, etc.) could also be shown in the tab of the documents. Technically this is probably an issue in the editor as it should re-use the standard menu, but I'll check what I can do.

Good suggestion.

For the most important commands you can work around this problem by right clicking on the document tab. That should work for all editors, including designers.

Improve setup performance by registering via a .pkgdef file in VS 2010 and later.

Whenever VS 2010 (and later) are installed, it is possible to register in those instances with a .pkgdef file in the right location. This would allow removing the devenv.exe /setup step for these instances. It would be nice to leave the registry registrations when the instance is *not* found, to allow preinstalling before Visual Studio. The next upgrade after installing would then switch to the vsix install and as that updates the .pkgdef it wouldn't require running the /setup either. I think the only case that requires /setup would be uninstall before switching to .pkgdef

After a few changes in my windows form (c#) solution i can´t commit. I think it opens a new window after the click on commit, because visual studio 2010 lost the focus. But i ca´n´t see anything and so Visual Studio 2010 is freezed.

I try to right click on my solution, project and single files in the project view in the visual studio and then try to commit. the window is always invisible and with ENTER I can always start the commit.

Which kind of repository? (file, http, https, svn+ssh, etc.)

Which commit dialog? (Pending Changes, Solution commit, Project commit, etc. etc.

We have thousands of downloads every day, and if all of them would have this issue we would have known.

To resolve an issue in a common code path such as a commit dialog we really need to know what makes your case different from all those others.

Please show us the steps on what we should do to see the problem ourselves.

We can't reproduce it with the current release and/or daily build and our usual test repositories and working copies.

This failure of AnkhSVN happens every time i commit, yes. Every window and function is working, but when i commit the Commit-Window is not showing and i can´t click to Visual Studio - maybe modal AnkhSVN-Window?
I repaired AnkhSVN and reinstalled it - nothing changed.

This is no suggestion for a new feature. Please report this as a bug with some information on how we can reproduce this issue.

If this was a generic failure on every commit from C# for everyong my mailbox would be filled with error reports.

So please explain why it fails for you, what version of AnkhSVN, what version of Visual Studio (servicepack, custom patches?), etc. etc.

Upgraded from 1.6 to latest 1.7 download. also tried daily update 2.3.10697.1155 and saw the same issue. CPU hits 100% (single CPU of 8) and class view updates very slowly. Also mouse over class view window produces the same issue. Using latest VisualSVN server and updated working copy to current svn format.

I'd like it if the update (get latest version) window either stayed open after the update had completed, or there was an option to allow this. My reasoning is that information about what changes the update has performed are displayed in the window, along with the revision you are updating to, but since it closes as soon as it's finished you don't really get a chance to look at this information.

I can see a new issue in 2.3 (SVN 1.7) - when I update from the Pending changes, some files are for a brief moment shown as red (changed, added, or deleted). This happens only for a short while and disappears once the update is completed.

Once a file deletion has been committed, it is extremely difficult to undo this. The only way I managed to do it was to find the revision where it occurred in the History Viewer, choose "Revert changes from this revision" (thereby reverting *all* the changes done there) and then again reverting the other changes. Much simpler if I could select the "delete file" action in the History Viewer's changed paths and choose "Revert".

We need complexer directory structures within the repository. Especially the need of *custom* subdirs (not to be forced to use the project name as subdir) We want to use Ankh to add an existing Project to a complete custom path to the repository. Example: Our project is named ProjectA and we want a repository structure like this: /root/container/projectA/doc/trunk /root/container/projectA/scr/trunk and so on for depending projects... Currently I cannot use Ankh to add an existing Project to /root/container/projectA/scr/trunk ! To do this is not trivial at the moment and I can't see a good reason for that! Please add this little bit of code to ankh, It should not be that hard..

Because of long path names in my projects, each time I commit files I have to increase the size of both the Commit to Subversion dialog window and also its Path column so that I can actually see what is going to be committed. It would be very useful to me if the previous size and column layout of this dialog could simply be remembered.
