JUMP TO ANOTHER FORUM

  1. Dear Ankh SVN people,
I love you guys/gals. Subversion is still an excellent source control system for thos eof us on a budget. Your work on Ankh SVN has paid off for me in several different environments.

I have a feature request that is totally NOT YOUR FAULT. With the dawn of NuGet a bunch of assemblies in the solution directory that need to be checked in for the rest of the team to compile. Checking these in using the Repository Explorer is a slow pain in the ass because it is usually a bunch of directories in directories before…

  2. I'm using the dark theme in VS2013 and I can barely see the changeset title headers in the pending changes window.

They are set to a dark blue with a dark background. While the dark blue is a nice fit for the default theme it is not for the dark theme.

Please add a section in Font & Colors settings of VS.

  4. I would love to work offline and be able to still check-in my files periodically and have those check-in's queued up and then sync'd with my VisualSVNServer when I get connected again. Of course this would be asking for the ability to do roll-backs files, diffs ect. while offline. Maybe this would required some sort of local sync repository.

I've just started to use this tool and you guys are doing a marvelous job. Love the tool.

I would love to have this feature in AnkhSVN, but it looks like it will be very hard to implement this for AnkhSVN specifically.

The good news is that one of the subversion developers said that he is going to add support for it for Subversion 1.8, which should automatically enable us to use this feature.

Subversion 1.7 will have better patch support than the current version which might help us add some intermediate support.

  5. We need complexer directory structures within the repository.
Especially the need of custom subdirs (not to be forced to use the project name as subdir)

We want to use Ankh to add an existing Project
to a complete custom path to the repository.

Example: Our project is named ProjectA
and we want a repository structure like this:

    /root/container/projectA/doc/trunk
    /root/container/projectA/scr/trunk

and so on for depending projects...

Currently I cannot use Ankh to add an existing Project to
    /root/container/projectA/scr/trunk !
To do this is not trivial at the moment and I can't see a good reason for that!

    Please add this little…

  6. Currently we use Branch Project to Tag a project.
It would be more comfortable if a separate context menu entry exist.

    Suggestion:
    - Add "Tag Project" in SVN context menu, analog to "Branch Projekt".
-> Make the tag-name suggestion editable via options.
E.G. if the Project is svn://projects/ProjectA/tags
a suggestion for the tag could be default svn://projects/ProjectA/tags/100301 - in option will be stored something like this
TagPattern = ../tags/{YYMMDD} or th. similar

This can help if we tag a project often, we use automatically the right tag path and a certain tag pattern.

    • Analog the diff dialog can be enhanced…

  7. When a revision property is changed, please just update the single row in the list, rather than forcing a full refresh of every revision.

This request should be handled with our TortoiseSVN client hook compatibility which is currently being tested.

(Can be enabled via the registry in the daily builds of AnkhSVN 2.3)

This feature will be enabled by default in a future release.

  9. when I commit in Visual studio, this screen appears:
"You are trying to commit files from several subversion working copies. Which working copies would you like to commit with the current log message?"
After this there is a list of paths. My question is: is there a way to remove all these paths. I only need one of them and now I always need to check/uncheck the right one out of this list.
    Thanks!

This tracker is for ideas, not for bug reports and questions. (Use users@ankhsvn.open.collab.net for that).

Your fix would be to not select files from multiple working copies or if the multiple working copies are from a single repository: to wait for Subversion1.7 / AnkhSVN 2.3, which will allow committing from multiple repositories at once.

Moving a target to the ignore-on-commit list will make sure it isn’t checked by default.

  10. Thanks to Bert Huijben for pointing out why NuGet packages folder should be excluded from the repo. How about another approach: i.e. that AnkhSVN automatically triggers a "nuget install packages.config" when this file is updated via SVN update?

  11. sometimes want to change the position of project on the server. after copy the file to new place, but the svn of project still point the original place.
advise the add-on support to disconnect the project, also just delete the .svn files under the project.

  12. Add a new URL to the Repository Explorer doesn't seem to remember recent urls in 2.4 and later versions. The new window is too big and contains a lot of dead space - i suggest you revert to the old one.

  14. It is not necessary to show an unmodified icon if a file isn't modified. The solution explorer will look cleaner with less noise. Please add at least an optional setting for this.

  15. When you click revert, it must save a copy of file in recycle bin then revert the file, so if the user reverted a file by wrong he can find the original version in recycle bin, please note that this behavior is applied by svn.

    Many Thanks in advance,
    Alla'.

  16. In the VisualStudio Reposity-Explorer I am able to move Folders to another subdirs.
Please auto-Refresh the view. I can see my subdirs after moving them until I manually select the parent-folder and click on the refresh-button.

As some of you might (or might not) know my work on AnkhSVN, SharpSvn and Subversion is paid by CollabNet.

So the development is partially funded by companies that subscribe to CollabNet support packages (which btw. include AnkhSVN support).

We are currently not looking at opening other ways of funding, but casting a lot of votes on this request might make us change our mind.

  19. When using the VS2010 plugin, Versioning Controlled Build
    (http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/5851/Versioning-Controlled-Build)
to update all of the version info for a solution, the AssemblyInfo.cs files are changed on disk but Ankhsvn does not see them and thus doesn't check them it.
The files are changed on disk and something like TortoiseSvn sees it.
If I close the solution and re-open it, the changes are detected.
